Give me your ideas and I’ll compile a top 10 list of what you think. Everyone has their preferences and best practices, let’s share!

man, I’ve been tryin everything. still not indexed, wonder what may have changed. I’ve gotten indexed in 20 minutes in the past.
submitted my sitemap through google webmaster tools.
put info and links back in wordpress.com, blogger, clearblogs, live journal, xanga, blog.com, squidoo, hubpages, delicious, digg and stumble.
submitted through onlywire and socialmarker. and im about to run the free version of webceo to hit directories.
I always used to slap a link to my new site in the footer of my old sites that were already being crawled. This time Im trying an experiment to see what someone without a website should do. It’s harder than I thought. Maybe Youll have better luck!
Once I finally do get indexed, I hope these efforts will be rewarded
